This trek covers the greater reaches of the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary in the West Sikkim, which is well-known for its flowers, and astounding mountain views of Kangchenjunga and Everest. The views are complimented with tenting in dense Oak and Rhododendron wooded area amidst the calls of barking deer and wild birds.
In Barsey one passes thru dense thickets of Rhododendrons beneath the tall mountain ridge encumbered with conifer forests of silver fir and hemlock. The trek winds its way via the supply of two rivers, which originate from moist grassy meadows. After Thulo Dhaap the path climbs up to the Singalila Ridge and from Phokety one can journey the break of day on Everest and Kanjchenjunga, the best and 0.33 easiest peaks in the world.

Trek Plan
Day 1
- NJP / Bagdogra to Hee Bermiok
- Travel to Hee Bermiok.
- This drive will take you through deep forested valleys, rustic villages, striking rivers and streams.
- After arriving in Hee Bermiok, check-in to the hotel.
- Spend the day at leisure.
- Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
- After breakfast, head to enjoy a sightseeing tour of the village.
- Located at an altitude of 1,800 M, Sirijuana Caves, Mahatma Srijuana Statue, Chhayatal Lake, Phang Dorjee Falls, Himalayan Botanical Garden, Hee Khola Water Garden and the Red Panda Gate
- are the main attractions of Hee Bermiok village.
- After concluding the day, you will be guided back to the hotel.
- Stay overnight at the hotel
Day 3
- After breakfast, trek through the lush and evergreen forests around Hee Bermiok and reach Samma Taar Nature Camp.
- During this trek, you can explore the scenic beauty of the luscious Oak forests and Hee Bermiok’s picturesque rhododendron valleys of Hee Bermiok.
- Stay overnight in Samma Taar.
Day 4
- While trekking to Barsey, you can witness the enchanting views of Mt Khanchendzonga.
- Upon arrival in Barsey, you will be transferred to Gurans Kunj which means ‘house made by rhododendron trees.
- Stay overnight in Gurans Kunj.
Day 5
- Post breakfast, trek through the captivating trails of Barsey; it will take you to Jorebotey. It is one of the secluded region, located at an elevation of 2,980 M.
- The Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary that blooms during the months of March and April add to the splendid magnificence of this region.
Day 6
- Phoktay Dara which is situated at a height of 3,733 M, is a well-known point to have the most astounding views of the some of the peaks around the region.
- Along with the peaks of the mighty Mt Everest and Khangchendzonga, other peaks that can be viewed from Phoktay Dara are Mt Daulagiri, Mt Makalu, Mt Lhotse, Mt Nuptse, Mt Pandim, Mt Kabru, Mt
- Narsing, Mt Rathong, Mt Sinolchu and Mt Kokthang.
- In addition, Darjeeling, Phalut, Sandhakpu, Nunthaley can also be viewed from this point.
Day 7
- The Chiwa Bhanjyang is located at a height of 10,300 ft above the sea level and is one of the renowned Indo-Nepal border passes.
- This pass also serves as a primary trading route between India and Nepal.
- Upon arrival in Chiwa Bhanjyang, check-in to the camp.
Day 8
- Today, after breakfast, you will be guided back to Uttarey.
- A trek of around 9 KM through the rugged slopes of Chiwa Bhanjyang will take you to Uttarey.
- Check-in to the hotel.
Day 9
- After breakfast in Uttarey, get transferred back to NJP / Bagdogra airport via Singshore Bridge, Dentam Valley.
- With your arrival in NJP / Bagdogra, the tour gets concluded.
